Exhumed Films' 24 Hour Horror-Thon 2009 Part 1

October 24, 2009

12:00pm: "I'll teach you to throw away my comic books!"

Well rested and with plenty of supplies I was in my seat about 10 minutes before the start of the event. After a brief announcement from a member of the International House staff and an introduction from Joe and Dan from Exhumed Films the 1st feature un-spooled.

12:30pm:

A very cool Exhumed Films 24 Hour Horror-Thon logo plays before the start of the 1st feature.

1st Feature: Creepshow (1982)

George A. Romero and Stephen King's homage to EC Comics. Notable actors include Ed Harris, Leslie Nielson, Ted Danson and Stephen King.

2:30pm:
Short Film: Chickamauga

3:00pm: "They're hypnotized by machinery... completely."

2nd Feature: Godzilla on Monster Island (1972)

AKA Godzilla vs. Gigan. Like the past 2 years a Godzilla film plays second. Plenty of monster mayhem and Godzilla talks!

Previews of Coming Attractions, Blood From the Mummy's Tomb/Night of the Blood Monster, The Vampire Beast Craves Blood, The Blood on Satan's Claw, Blood Mania, Blood and Lace, The House that Dripped Blood.

4:35pm: "You're a fucking drag!"

3rd Feature: The Fly (1986)

David Cronenberg's updating of the 50's classic stars Jeff Goldblum and Gena Davis.

6:05pm: "There's nothing to worry about. The servants will take care of everything."

5th Feature: The Oblong Box (1969)

Vincent Price and Christopher Lee star in this Edgar Allen Poe adaptation.

6:45pm:
Dinner Break:

Thanks SO much for listing the shorts...I was so upset that I had missed the title of the short that I now see is called Chickamauga!

No problem... The shorts/trailers are some of my favorite parts of the horror-thon so I make a point to be there for all of them. They played less trailers this years which was kind of a bummer but all in all it was still a great event.

Chickamauga was a tough one to figure out. My notes said "Cookamunga" which I knew wasn't right. Short of asking one of the Exhumed guys I ended up on a mad Google search Monday morning.
