Exploring the Rules of Hell - Walk Away
The second to last song on Heaven and Hell is the first on the album that I could do without. That's not to say it's a bad song; it's just not as remarkable as the songs before it. If it didn't have some interesting stuff going on I'd call it filler.
The track opens with the type of riff that we don't normally hear from Iommi. It's unique and memorable, and it actually reminded me of 5150 era Eddie Van Halen.
The other real stand out on the track is the bass. Butler's fierce, round tone drives the track with a moving bass line and it's the main reason I could see myself wanting to listen to the song in the future.
Stop by tomorrow for the last track from Heaven and Hell, "Lonely is the Word"!
