I'm lumping these songs together because that is basically what the band did. "Heaven and Hell" leads into an extended Iommi solo, "The Sign of the Southern Cross" and back into "Heaven and Hell". The whole thing has a great flow and made for an interesting listen.
Early on Dio encourages the crowd to sing along by showing them where and when to sing "It's heaven and hell" during the chorus. He also lets the audience know that the show is being recorded for a live album.
"Heaven and Hell" takes up much more time than "The Sign of the Southern Cross" but ultimately you get a good dose of both songs. This is really what makes live albums for me. Straight presentations of the studio material is good but it is rare that they will out do the studio recordings.
Tomorrow, "Paranoid"!
