"It's like giving a handgun to a six year old, Wade. You don't know how it's gonna end, but you're pretty sure it's gonna make the papers."

Released on April 23rd, 2010, The Losers was the first team movie of 2010. Based on the 2003 comic series of the same name The Losers was an ambitious book to adapt. Filled with dozens of characters and spanning several countries, the comic reads like a movie. A very, very expensive movie. Screenwriter (and original director) Peter Berg and James Vanderbilt broke the story down to its bare essentials and crafted a script that was manageable on a budget. Stomp the Yard director Sylvain White might have seemed like an odd choice to replace Berg after he left the project but under his guidance the film wound up in good hands.
After being double-crossed and presumed dead, The Losers, a CIA Black Ops team, have to find the man who set them up in order to clear their names. With nothing more than the name Max and few resources the team finally gets a solid lead when they meet Aisha (Zoe Saldana). A mysterious woman, Aisha has the funds to finance the team's revenge mission. As the team works there way to Max (Jason Patrick) a series of exciting action set pieces follow and they slowly discover why they were betrayed.
Like the team itself The Losers is a scrappy little film. With plenty of action, nice splashes of humor and a plot with nice forward momentum, The Losers was a great start to the team movie season.
