Bond: Ranked

In honor of the recently released Casino Royale I’ve ranked all 21 of the EON Productions produced James Bond films.

21: Live and Let Die - Roger Moore's first crack at Bond falls flat. I blame the lack of very exotic locations and obvious desire to somehow capatilize on the Blaxploitation films of the period. Thankfully Bond would see better days.

20: You Only Live Twice - 5th film to feature Sean Connery

19: Diamonds are Forever - Connery's return to the franchise after George Lazenby's entry. Connery was already showing his age in this mediocre entry.

18: The World is Not Enough - Pierce Brosnan's 3rd entry is the weakest of the four that he would star in. I blame the lack of a ruthless villian for its failure more than I blame Denise Richards.

17: Moonraker - More capatilizing on other succesful genres here. This time Bond ends up in space.

16: The Living Daylights - Timothy Dalton's first Bond film is often criticized for its toning down of the character. Somehow Dalton gets all the blame.

15: Thunderball - Connery's 4th film as Bond. Orginally scripted by Bond creator Ian Flemming and collaborators with the idea that it would be the first film.

14: Die Another Day - Brosnan's swan song is a solid flick, invisible car and all.

13: For Your Eyes Only - 5th Roger Moore entry.

12: A View to a KIll - Roger Moore's last film suffers from the fact that he was clearly too old for the role.

11: License to Kill - Dalton's 2nd and last Bond film.

10: The Spy Who Loved Me - The film that introduced the world to Jaws.

09: Tomorrow Never Dies - Brosnan's 2nd Bond film.

08: Dr. No - The one that started it all.

007: Casino Royale - This re-boot featuring Daniel Craig isn't as threatening as originally promised. Staying true to most of the great aspects of the Bond formula the film's only real difference is a Bond that we have never seen before. Craig has been given the wonderful opportunity to portray Bond before he became BOND.

06: Octopussy - 6th Roger Moore entry

05: The Man with the Golden Gun - 2nd Roger Moore entry.

04: Goldeneye - Brosnan's 1st re-introduced the Bond that had sorely been missed during the Dalton era.

03: On Her Majesty’s Secret Service - George Lazenby's only film. If Connery had stayed on-board this would be the greatest Bond movie ever.

02: Goldfinger - For many this is the quintessential Bond film.

01: From Russia with Love - Goldfinger usually gets all of the credit, but this 2nd entry really set the template for the rest of the series.

Your top three are the same as my top three only not in that order. Moonraker is my least favorite and View to a kill is close. It looks like I like the Living Daylights and You only live twice way more than you do.

I still blame Denise Richards.
And the invisible car sucked.
